Bee Social 2025 quilt
This is my Bee Social 2025 quilt. It is the 9th quilt I have finished this year. When my month came around I requested petal blocks in red pinks or reds on pieced blue backgrounds. The ladies did a great job! What do you think? The trick was getting all the blocks to come together because many were different sizes. I didn’t want to trim the big ones down to the size of the smaller ones so I made some strata in blue solids and used that as coping strips.

I had a blast quilting this quilt. At first I thought about just doing straight lines, But then I was like why? I have an incredible long arm and I literally know how to use it. I wanted to emphasize the movement and all the wonderful piecing that went into this group quilt. I only used two different color threads to quilt this quilt (neon pink and baby blue). I included some simple X designs in the strata I made just to give the eye a resting place when looking at all this wildness. the rest of the pieces I echoed using my ruler. Needless to say there was a lot of thread to bury and clip, but it was a joy to work on.
More detail of the quilt and quilting.
I had a tiny bit of fun in some of the petals to showcase their beautiful piecing. Mostly I just echoed the piecing, but where I had larger shapes I quilted some excitement.
While Straight lines would have been faster and still looked great, this was a lot more fun. And that is what it is all about right? Quilts are such an expression of ourselves and our ability. I had the time and I had a great machine, so why not?
Thank you for your wonderful blocks @aquilterstable @quiltmatters @spontaneousthread @mili.tra @capitolaquilter @shecanquilt @felicityquilts I love each and every one!
